Introduction
– Jesus’ invitation to follow Him is a call to discipleship, a journey of transformation that changes our lives forever.
– Discipleship is not just about attending church or reading the Bible; it’s about surrendering our lives to Jesus and allowing Him to shape us into His image.
Three Aspects of Discipleship
– Following Jesus
– Leaving our old life behind and following Jesus wherever He leads (Matthew 4:18-22).
– Like the first disciples, we must be willing to leave our nets, our families, and our comforts to follow Jesus.
– Taking up our cross
– Denying ourselves, taking up our cross daily, and following Jesus (Luke 9:23-26).
– Discipleship requires sacrifice, surrender, and a willingness to suffer for Christ’s sake.
– Being transformed
– Allowing Jesus to transform us from the inside out, renewing our minds and hearts (Romans 12:1-2).
– As we follow Jesus and take up our cross, He transforms us into His image, making us more like Him.
Conclusion
– Discipleship is a lifelong journey of transformation.
– As we follow Jesus, take up our cross, and allow Him to transform us, we become more like Him.
– Let us surrender our lives to Jesus and embrace the journey of discipleship.
May God bless you as you walk with Him!
